Hespeler is in easy reach of central Cambridge, Galt, Preston, Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, and Puslinch.
The village of Hespeler straddles the Speed River, and sits within the Haldimand Tract. Jacob Hespeler founded the village in 1845, and named it New Hope, then Bergeytown. It was incorporated as Hespeler in 1859.
