2SLGBTQIA Businesses in Ontario

A photo of a Progress Pride flag against a cloudy blue sky. The flag has red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple stripes representing the 2SLGBTQIA community, intersected by a chevron with Black and brown stripes representing Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour communities; blue, pink, white chevrons to represent transgender and nonbinary people; and a yellow triangle with a purple circle to represent intersex people.

There are many queer-owned businesses in Ontario, which need your support all year round, not just during Pride Month. Here are some of the ones I have personally interacted with.

Carnelian Web Services – a queer-owned web services business. We offer various services including content writing, website design, search engine optimization, making your website accessible, and training. Check out our portfolio and pricing or contact us to find out more.

Cordial Clove Books, Elora – one of my favourite bookstores in Ontario and it’s queer-owned and very friendly. As well as used books, they sell great stickers and stationery with queer themes. I always stop by whenever I am in Elora.

Diversity Ed – working toward creating and maintaining a safer, inclusive and equitable environment for 2SLGBTQAI+ children, youth, adults, seniors and their families, friends and allies. I have attended a workshop led by Diversity Ed, and it was excellent.

Rookery Books, Cambridge – another favourite, located in downtown Cambridge, with an excellent selection of queer and Indigenous books as well as other categories. I have bought several books from them, and they are always friendly.
